Former Group Head of Sustainability & Lendlease Foundation, Lendlease
Cate has more than 20 years of experience in designing, delivering and managing sustainability strategies across public and private sectors, including serving as the executive director at the UN Global Compact Network Australia.
As Group Head of Sustainability at Lendlease, Cate led the refresh of Lendlease’s sustainability strategy, including; a new strategic framework, best practice implementation of the Task Force for Climate-related Financial Disclosure’s (TCFD) recommendations and preparations for the ASRS (Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards), and the creation of Lendlease’s industry-leading sustainability targets that
result in Lendlease being a 1.5 degree aligned organisation, aiming to be Absolute Zero Carbon Scopes 1,2&3 by 2040, no offsets, no excuses and creating $250 million of social value by 2025.
Cate was also a director on the global board of Responsible Steel and sat on the Advisory Committee of Lendlease’s FutureSteps, which addresses housing stress in Australia. In May 2023, she was named in Financial Standard’s 50 most influential ESG leaders and in February 2024 Cate was acknowledged as one of Asia Pacific's most impactful changemakers as a winner of the Eco Business Sustainability Leadership A List.
