Muiris Moynihan

Sustainability Technical Leader, Laing O’Rourke

Muiris is the Sustainability Technical Leader at Laing O’Rourke, working to decarbonise construction projects in collaboration with designers, clients and supply-chain partners. He has over 15 years’ experience spanning design, research (both academic and applied), and construction delivery, gained in Europe and Australia. His PhD examined ways to use less material in construction, which he has translated into practice through a number of innovative initiatives, including award-winning low-carbon precast columns. A chartered structural engineer and environmentalist, he is Chair of the Institution of Structural Engineers’ Sustainability Panel, advocating for efficient, low-carbon design in the built environment.
