Mr Doug Niven FCA is the Chair and CEO of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AUASB), appointed for a five-year term from September 2023, after serving as Acting Chair since July 2023. He is a member of Australia’s Financial Reporting Council, the New Zealand Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, and the IAASB/IESBA Stakeholder Advisory Council. Doug was previously Chief Accountant at ASIC, overseeing financial reporting and audit strategy, policy, and inspections. He has held leadership roles with IOSCO and IFIAR, contributing to global audit quality, standard-setting, and sustainability initiatives. Doug brings over 40 years of experience in audit and financial reporting.
